How long does the bathtub refinishing process take?
The refinishing process takes about 4-5hrs.
How much will I save with reglazing vs. replacement?
Refinishing can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars over replacement. While a brand new bathtub may only cost as little as $300, there are hidden costs such as removal and disposal cost, plumbing alterations, and tile work. These costs add up and you can easily end up spending more than $2,500 to replace your bathtub.
When can I use my refinished bathtub, shower pan, or sink?
The newly refinished surface may be used in 48 hours.
Is there a strong odor?
We use a ventilation system to ventilate the area. An industrial exhaust system is used and there is a mild odor once the job is complete that is typically gone within a few hours.
Is there a warranty?
We offer a 5 year written guarantee on all bathtub, tile, and shower pan refinishing. We also offer a guarantee on all repairs.
When is payment due?
Payment is required at job completion. Commercial accounts are invoiced for payment within 30 days.
Does HKB remove any plumbing/fixtures?
We are not plumbers, and do not engage in plumbing. Disconnecting/reconnecting water controls, spouts, shower heads, drain stoppers and pipes must be done either prior to or following refinishing (depending on the setup and circumstances) by a qualified plumber.
How long will my refinished bathtub, shower pan, or sink last?
With proper care and maintenane, your refinished surface will last several years!
Can my bathtub be refinished if it’s been refinished before?
Yes, your bathtub can be refinished if it’s been previously refinished.
What if my bathtub, sink, or shower pan is damaged?
Chips and minor cracks can be repaired during the cleaning and preparation stage of refinishing.
My tub is peeling, can it still be refinished?
Yes, however we must strip the old failed coating before we can refinish. Please let us know if your surfaces have already been refinished so we can provide you with an accurate price quote.
Can the color of my bathtub be changed?
Yes! There are standard colors to choose from. There are also plenty of custom colors available.
My porcelain sink has rust, can I still refinish?
If your sink has rust, it can still be refinished, and we will do are best to remove all rust to refinish the surface in a manner that will make it last, but we do not offer any warranty, express or implied, on such a refinish. If rust does return, we are not responsible for repair, refinishing or removal of the rust.
I’m going to repaint my bathroom, should I do it before or after refinishing my bathtub?
Due to the nature of paint taking many days to fully dry, it is best if you paint after tub refinishing. During refinishing, we must apply masking tape around the edges of the tub, and new paint may detach or peel if it is not fully dry. One Day Bathtub Refinishing is not responsible for any paint chipping or peeling that may result.
My sink is leaking, can I still refinish?
A leaking bathtub or sink will prevent the refinishing work from curing properly, and the new finish will fail at the point of constant water contact. Its best to have any leaks repaired prior to refinishing by a plumber.
